A photojournal of Ed's travels

Day Three – Siem Reap

Carol had arranged to do some business in Siem Reap, so she’d fly up with us and do some sightseeing as well. Yay!  And since she was on official business, that meant the car had to fly the flag. Diplomacy has lots of funny little traditions.

Off we went to the airport, breezed through Customs with the Ambassador, and hopped on a turboprop for the 45 minute trip up to Siem Reap. After the flights we took to get here, 45 minutes was nothing! Allan took the opportunity to reflect on things.

Mum and Carol chatted.

Carol’s driver met us at the airport, having driven up from PP in an Embassy car, and took us into town to our hotel, by way of Angkor, so I could drool a bit about tomorrow.

We checked in to the Prince D’Angkor and boy is it nice! Allan is trying to pretend having a beer on our balcony overlooking the pool is somhow a hardship. See if you buy it. I don’t.

Pretty nice. Tomorrow is gonna be great!
